Welcome to Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping. By using our website, requesting a quote, approving a proposal, scheduling services, or hiring us for lawn care, landscaping, hardscaping, drainage, irrigation repair, property maintenance, or related services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping provides residential and commercial lawn care, landscaping, property maintenance, mulch and pine straw installation, shrub trimming, sod installation, drainage solutions, hardscape services, irrigation repair, seasonal cleanups, and related outdoor property services. The specific scope of work for each project or service will be outlined in a written estimate, proposal, invoice, contract, email, or other written communication. Any work not specifically included in the approved scope may require a separate quote or additional charges.
All estimates and proposals are based on the information available at the time they are prepared. Pricing may change if the actual site conditions, property access, material needs, labor requirements, or requested scope differs from what was originally discussed. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated in writing. Material prices, fuel costs, labor availability, and supplier pricing may affect final project pricing after that period.
Work may begin once the customer approves the estimate, proposal, or service agreement. Approval may be provided in writing, by email, text message, electronic approval, verbal confirmation, or payment of a deposit. By approving work, the customer confirms that they understand the scope, pricing, payment terms, and responsibilities described in the estimate, proposal, or agreement.
Payment terms will be stated on the estimate, invoice, proposal, or service agreement. Unless otherwise stated, payment is due upon completion of the work. For larger projects, Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping may require a deposit before scheduling or beginning work. Deposits may be used to secure materials, labor, equipment, and scheduling. Late payments may result in paused services, delayed scheduling, collection efforts, or additional fees where allowed by law.
Deposits may be required for certain projects, including but not limited to sod installation, hardscapes, drainage work, large cleanups, landscape installations, and material-heavy jobs. If a customer cancels after materials have been ordered, labor has been scheduled, or project preparation has begun, the customer may be responsible for costs already incurred, including materials, restocking fees, delivery charges, administrative time, and labor scheduling costs.
Service dates are scheduled based on weather, property conditions, equipment availability, crew availability, and current workload. Outdoor work is subject to delays caused by rain, storms, extreme heat, unsafe conditions, wet ground, supplier delays, or other conditions outside our control. Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping will make reasonable efforts to communicate scheduling changes when delays occur.
The customer is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the property on scheduled service days. This includes unlocking gates, securing pets, moving vehicles, removing obstacles, and ensuring access to water or electrical sources when required for the job. If our crew cannot access the property or complete the work due to locked gates, pets, blocked areas, unsafe conditions, or customer-caused delays, a trip charge, rescheduling fee, or minimum service charge may apply.
The customer is responsible for notifying Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping of any known property conditions that may affect the work, including but not limited to:
Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping is not responsible for damage to unmarked, improperly installed, shallow, hidden, or undisclosed underground items.
Before digging, trenching, grading, drainage work, sod preparation, irrigation work, or hardscape installation, public utility locating may be required where applicable. Public utility marking does not typically identify private lines such as irrigation, landscape lighting, drainage pipes, invisible fences, septic components, or privately installed wiring. The customer is responsible for identifying and disclosing private underground systems before work begins.
Sod, seed, plants, shrubs, trees, and other living materials require proper watering, maintenance, sunlight, drainage, and care after installation. Once installed, the ongoing health of living materials depends heavily on customer maintenance and environmental conditions.
Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping is not responsible for damage or decline caused by improper watering, drought, overwatering, poor drainage, pests, disease, foot traffic, pet damage, neglect, extreme weather, or failure to follow care instructions. Drainage work is designed to improve water movement based on observed conditions and the approved scope of work. Because drainage is affected by grading, soil type, rainfall intensity, neighboring properties, construction runoff, and existing site conditions, Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping cannot guarantee that all water will be eliminated from a property unless specifically stated in writing.
Recurring lawn maintenance services may include mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and other agreed-upon services. Service frequency may vary based on season, weather, turf growth, property conditions, and the approved service plan. If a property is overgrown, excessively wet, obstructed, or requires additional cleanup beyond normal maintenance, additional charges may apply.
Any changes to the original scope of work may require a change order, updated estimate, or additional approval. Additional work requested by the customer, discovered during the project, or required due to site conditions may result in additional charges. Verbal or written approval of extra work may be treated as authorization to proceed and bill accordingly.
Material availability may vary. Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping may recommend or use comparable substitute materials when specific products, plants, stone, sod, mulch, pavers, or other materials are unavailable, delayed, or discontinued. Any major substitutions affecting appearance, price, or project scope will be communicated when practical.
Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping may take photos or videos of work performed for documentation, quality control, marketing, website content, social media, estimates, before-and-after examples, and internal training. We will not intentionally share private personal information. Customers who do not want their property photographed for marketing purposes should notify us in writing before work begins.

We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and updated, but we do not guarantee that all website content is complete, current, or error-free. Website content, photos, logos, service descriptions, and written materials may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission.
Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping will make reasonable efforts to complete work in a professional manner according to the approved scope. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our liability for any claim related to services provided shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific service or project giving rise to the claim, unless otherwise required by law.
Any warranties or guarantees must be stated in writing in the estimate, proposal, invoice, or service agreement. Verbal statements or general website descriptions do not create a warranty unless confirmed in writing. Plant material, sod, turf, and landscape installations may be affected by weather, maintenance, watering, pests, disease, soil conditions, and customer care. Unless specifically stated in writing, no long-term survival guarantee is provided for living materials.
Salty Dog Lawn Care & Landscaping reserves the right to refuse, pause, or terminate service due to nonpayment, unsafe working conditions, repeated access issues, abusive behavior, unreasonable demands, property hazards, or any situation that prevents safe or professional completion of work. Customers may cancel recurring services by providing reasonable notice. Any completed work, scheduled work already performed, materials ordered, or outstanding balances remain the customer’s responsibility.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes shall be handled in accordance with applicable North Carolina law.
